California Divorce Council is owned and operated by Jolene Dashut, a registered legal document assisant and a pioneer in self-help law.  California Divorce Council is a second-generation family business that has been serving the greater Los Angeles area since 1972.  Jolene joined the staff in 1977 and became the owner in 1985.  She has helped thousands of individuals represent themselves in legal matters.

Jolene received her Paralegal Certificate in 1986 from the University of Southern California Law School and has had mediation training at the Ventura Center for Dispute Resolution.  She is a member and the past Conference Chairperson of the California Association of Legal Document Assistants, sits on the board of the Coalition for Collaborative Divorce, is a Founder of the Alliance Of Divorce Professionals, and has done volunteer work for the Los Angeles Paralegal Association.

An acknowledged and highly respected professional, she has been cited as an expert source in articles appearing in the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Business Journal, the Ventura County Star, and the Daily News.
